Omni Zero 1000, A New Transformer Robot

The International Robot Exhibition 2009 in Tokyo, showing the changing face of robotics, those such as Omni Zero 1000 can transform into a car while also carrying a passenger on a seat hidden under its head. This robot has been one of the hits of this year's International Robot Exhibition in Tokyo.

This is amazing! It never fails to keep us in a state of awe at the creativity and innovation of robotic event held in Japan. There was once a robot that can play the violin…it can even play a complete song! We believe that in the near future, designers will also incorporate things like solar panels on robots so they’ll last longer than when they’re powered by batteries alone…

The Omni Zero 1000 can walk and turn itself into a car and roll along the floor. Originally made for Robot One, a robot competition held twice a year, the robot can also transform itself into various shapes. When in walking mode, the robot can open its head section to reveal a seat and carry a human occupant or more often its creator Takeshi Maeda. "It has wheels on its shoulders, and it can turn into a car shape and move that way. Also, a human, in this case me, can sit on this section and it can walk. Those are the two main traits," Maeda explained to Reuters after riding on the Omni Zero.
